Hi there, I’m Sean. Most days, you can find me in the real estate world in one of many arenas. Since moving to Austin in 2006, my expertise has blossomed in more areas of real estate than I would have dreamed, including: personal renovations, client representation, construction, investments, and virtual reality (“VR”) for real estate.

My journey in real estate began in west campus when I attended The University of Texas at Austin. I focused on leasing and investments for clients. After graduating with an undergraduate and Masters in Accounting (I am an licensed CPA in the state of Texas), I transition into finance where I learned valuation analyses with a focus on cash flows. These skills translated into real estate valuations and allowed Diana, my wife, and I to begin our journey with our own personal renovation and investment.

Diana owns Skelly Home Renovations, a high end renovation and construction company in Austin. Diana’s experience in renovations combine with my finance background lead to our first renovation beginning in 2015.

My client representation experience exploded in 2013. I grew with the growth of Austin’s population and real estate market. By surrounding myself with intelligent and experienced Realtors, I was able to absorb 50+ years of experience. This experience led to over $60 million (and counting) of transactions as well as a sales member of The Independent, the tallest residential towner West of the Mississippi River (when it was completed).

As I mentioned earlier, Diana owns a construction firm and Skelly Home took off in 2017. I joined her team as a PM, COO and CFO when the firm took a huge step, the need to hire multiple employees. Over the last few years, my experience with Skelly Home has led me to wide variety of construction knowledge and skilled tradesman. This has complemented my client representation as a Realtor with construction knowledge (prior to listing a property, after an inspection, during negotiations) plus access to tradesman to accomplish any tasks.

With any industry, technology is a leading factor of change and a future that operates differently from today. The real estate industry is not invisible to this fact and will have major changes in the future. Through my eyes, virtual reality is on the rise in real estate. As I reflect on my experiences, including selling luxury properties that are not built or leading a renovation of a home, everyone and I mean everyone (seller, buyer, developer, architect, designer, construction firm, sales team, tradesman) would benefit from virtually visiting or “walking through” the property. While each party has different purpose or focus during the VR experience, the outcome would benefit everyone. A few benefits include but not limited to: buyers can see the property and make quicker decisions on purchase at a lower price, the developer and sales team can sell the properties quicker, architect and designers can confirm design aspects as well as details of the project, tradesman and the construction firms can execute quicker without decision making delays or construction mistakes. In my opinion, the real estate industry will benefit from VR and we have the VR software available for sale.

I am very grateful for those who have guided me to where I am today. These individuals include Aaron Murski, Kevin Burns, Simon Crawley, Casey Legg, and my wife and #1 fan, Diana Skellenger. Through each individual, I have gained invaluable knowledge and am appreciative of their guidance.
